Only usable power is the power one can lay down on the street.

All too often it stays as a potential in the engine...

Waiting to be released :wreck:

He was more than likely on a learning curb. :D

I get that all the time in my Porsche. Drive it gently and allow folks to pass and there'll be some spotty youth in a hatchback telling his mates he smoked a supercar. :D

WEE said..."Or it was unflashed"..I dunno...this bike stock is a real handful. That flash deal pretty much just allows the primaries to stay open instead of closing down.Everything in between is untouched as far as I know...unless of course the fueling and timing have been changed somehow.Don flashed mine...not sure exactly what he did...he raised the rev limiter for one thing...and I'm pretty sure he did the plates deal.Other than that...IDK.She's a lightening bolt though.VERY quick up through the gears.Moreso than my flashed and piped 14R.Actually,TOO fast and strong for me to go all out.Probably don't have the KTRC set just right.9 settings...it's hard to find the 'perfect' one.

Plus I'm no racer or anything...so that makes a HUGE difference. When this thing starts lifting,it's VERY quick.Scarey quick at times. That's(for me)what makes it so hard to really open it up all the way.Once she's rolling...it's much better to feel control...but still...the immediate throttle response is something a guy has to get used to..IMO.You can't just whack this thing open.Unless ya want to wind up on yer azz.

Getting the Brock's stage 1 or 2 kit I think DOES deal with the fueling and such.I just have the first of the flashes that were done with these bikes with the cat removed and the Akra 'muffler'...by Don.

I thought some dyno numbers were 240hp after a flash?

You know...I really can't say.Another guy got the same flash as I have...he said his was putting down 243...on Don's dyno.Also another guy...same deal...same setup as mine...243.

I should dyno mine...just so I know what's in there. It's very strong however...very.Even stock...this thing was highly volatile if ya know what I mean. That was with the factory numbers of about 198HP...something like that?

There's no way I'm gonna try to do 4th gear wheelies...not yet anyway.I did have the frontend off barely in 4th...hammering her.But I know she'll lift right up with a skilled hand. It's VERY quick.Honestly...I can't see any other bike out there that's street legal and all that has the acceleration this one has...there probably are...but it's hard to imagine.

It's got that Launch control mode in there...I watched a few vids with guys using that.TO ME...it sounded like it really wasn't allowing the rear to hook up quite the same as using KTRC only.It seemed like it was cutting just where a guy would want to be getting the max power down.Just an observation...I really don't KNOW if it was hooking right or not.I've tried several KTRC settings so far...

there seems to be a very fine line with it.It's similar to the 14's KTRC action...but it's really sensitive.I'm no pro or anything...so actually 'testing' the different settings is kinda iffy with me.I wanted it to be able to lift...yet come back down at say...midlift to keep in the gas.So far...it doesn't want to behave like that.I tried the KTRC on 2-.It 'stopped' the lift about midway...but it hindered the acceleration pretty strongly. Then I changed it to 2+...it kicked in right away and wouldn't allow a lift. That was no good.So I think it's somewhere between 1 something and 2.

I've been keeping it in KTRC 1.Guess I just have to find the right throttle balance to drop the front and keep accelerating! It's so darn quick to react...it's hard(for me)to find a happy medium. If that makes sense.

I think someone like Shane could elaborate on this deal way better than me.I have ZERO experience with actually hammering a bike like a dragger.

I watched Ricky do his runs..I'm guessing he had his set to the launch control mode. His runs were very smooth. Not like the ones I watched from 'regular guys".

I went 19/43 first which got me to 202. Waiting for a 42T now and can see that the Brock's site is showing zero stock again. They had some in the other day, I wonder if they sent mine?

Gas mileage on my H2 was showing low thirties but to be honest that's not why I bought the bike and I doubt it was a major concern to Kawasaki themselves.

So your saying when you go out right now and turn your key on it will say an average of 40 something mpg out of your current tank.

No.I'm saying...while out riding..set to 'current'...these numbers are what I'm getting at the moment. The 'avg' mileage is as you know based on start to finish riding. There's the acceleration mileages.Which can be pretty low...more often than cruising mileages. This tips the scale to the negative.Since there's more of those, the 'avg' will show less.I don't go by the average.I go with the current...that shows me my best parameters for good mileage at any given area during my ride.If I'm out going from A to B...and I want to know what I'm currently getting...that tells me I can or can't get to point A or B with the fuel I have depending on how I use the gears and throttle.Using 'avg' as a means to determine distance/fuel is NOT gonna be 'usable' for this(not accurate).I mean...unless I'm like totally wrong in my thinking on this. It's much more complicated than what I'm saying... :fishslap:

If I'm 80 miles away from my destination, and I have 2 gallons left...'avg' would mean...I won't make it.But 'current' shows me I CAN make it if I get in the right zone. With plenty to spare.I never ride in avg.You can't make a determination for mileage/fuel stops with that.(I guess you could if you wanted to).

All I want to know is what does your average say you have been getting when you fill up.Because for the most it is real close to the same #s if you divide miles by gallons used manually. Mine is always around 28 mpg and that is fucking terrible .thanks,Mark
