A guy in Jersey did it 2 years ago to his 2009 ZX14. Not sure how is done.

Pretty sure the tank will work. If I ever have a chance to test fit I will, but for now I can only say that so far I have not seen a glaring reason why they would not swap or work with the other gen's plastics, etc. Don't think I have ever had both my gen 1 and gen 2 skinned at the same time.. I will certainly test the premise if I ever have them torn down that far side by side. Worth a try... but not my fault if it doesn't work. ;)

yea all fits just fine. It seems the only differences are the front for the lights and the look of the side grilles.

Isnt the position of the seat lock different on the left tail section?

If i remember correctly the gen 1 is pointing out to the side and the gen 2 is pointing to the ground.

May be an easy fix tho, not for sure..

Patrick

The key tumbler is in a different place true, but it actuates the actual pin lock seat latch, via cables. The cables might be of different lengths from gen 1 to 2, but I am sure that can be swapped out as needed without much fuss.

Well now that I'm about 90% done with this swap.. the overflow tank is different and must be swapped, as well are the upper mounting brackets for the side fairings that bolt to the frame and the brackets on the head fairing stay that the dash panels bolt too and different as well... I got a gen2 trunk lock set and upper tree with ignition and that trunk lock must be changed too

So doable, but plenty of details need to be sorted. Post pics if you get a chance.
