I'm just back home after a long drive down from York, it's gone 1am. I've posted this elsewhere but I think ZX-1441R.com followers might find it interesting too.

This weekend we've been to the Northern Speed Trials at Elvington, more properly called the Yorkshire Mile & British National Records meeting, run by the Straightliners Club and UK Timing Association. I ran a new personal best on my Ninja H2 of 204.657 mph in a standing-mile and set a new class record for the flying-mile, which is an aggregate of two consecutive runs in opposite directions. I don't have the numbers for that one yet, waiting for the published results. I think it's around 197 though.

I'm going to decline the ACU record because it means having the engine stripped and measured and I'm not prepared to let them do that to my H2 but I will get a UKTA and Straightliners records which don't need that to be done.

My friend Mike Grainger made just one run on his H2R of 209 mph but had to stop after that because the bike exceeded the allowed noise level at Elvington. This is exactly what I said at Kawasaki UK headquarters the other week, the H2R cannot be run at the majority of venues in the UK because it's just too noisy. Totally brilliant - but noisy. They did take note.

We had a fantastic weekend and I was privileged to be at an event with some living legends in the world of sprinting, land speed racing and wheelie records .

Have you made a change to the windscreen yet or were you using the stock one?

Thanks guys, the windscreen is still stock Charles. I was looking at the Zero Gravity but since there is only one Top Speed Tuesday left in this year's programme I might wait and see if Kawasaki themselves produce a double-bubble..

Eric Buckley took a great photo of my H2 running East to West into the wind at 196 mph, let's see if I can upload it.

Talking about the Ninja H2, here's an H2, an H2R and an immaculate Mach IV Triple together at the speed trials.

The Mach IV was totally as new. Not over-the-top restored looking but just like a new one in the showroom back in the day.

I have this image too. :)
