Hi y'all! I recently bought a used 2013 ZX14R SE ABS and am really enjoying it! I've had lots of bikes over the last 20+ years but my faves were the big sport-touring bikes, so I'm hoping to fall deeply in love with my ZX as the miles roll by. :D

It's currently mostly stock, with Yosh R77 slipons, tail tidy and aftermarket windscreen. I just bought a Givi trunk adapter and will add PLX cases to make it a real SPORT tourer. Have lots of goodies to install, bar risers and heated grips and radar detector connector, etc. Oh, and I need to find a paint shop once it's all together, to replace those green stripes with hot pink ones, and add sparkles too :-)

Ride safe,
Erica

Yes, I have, and that's why I bought a ZX14R. I prefer to sit leaning forward with hands lower than the Connie allows, and I like the lower weight of the ZX. Both great bikes tho...

Thanks! Just south of San Francisco. Lovely motorcycling area, live near the Santa Cruz mountains. Unfortunately most of my riding lately is from home to work in SillyCon valley, 50 miles/day.

Once I get the bike outfitted I'll need to book a moto-weekend away with my wife. She hasn't been on the back yet, afraid to get on until i get a trunk to keep her from sliding off :-)

Yeah, she had her own, an SV650, but she crashed hard about 18 months ago and keeps waffling on whether to ride again. She's a great rider but her confidence is gone. I'd love her to have another bike but since she's not committed to riding, I tell her that she should just take the backseat.

Hi Mike, it's an MRA, I think it's the TouringScreen, from Twisted Throttle.

I'm about 6'1" or 6'2" with stock handlebars (currently) and the wind hits me at the upper chest. I'm gonna try the stock screen since I like the windblast to hit a little lower. Quieter that way. On my Busa I took about 3-4" off the screen and it was just perfect, just enough to divert the wind but still lift the upper body at speed to relieve the wrists.

Sounds familiar! My wife broke her shoulder/upper arm, a rib or two, and a couple vertebrae.

My wife told me today that she'd be perfectly happy with me buying a CBR500R or something as a track/beater bike, because then she could ride it, and honestly answer "no" when one of her friends asks if she has a bike again! (Her non-riding friends have decided they need to give her grief if she ever buys another bike.) Hmmm, I might need to go bike shopping again :-) Whatever I get her it has to have ABS--panic over-braking is what caused her to crash last time (been there done that)
