Just wanting opinions and experiences on a ZX9. I wasn't really looking but I saw a ZX9 for sale on ebay and actually called the seller and spoke with him. It's a burgundy 1999 model with a Mr. Turbo turbo kit with fuel injection upgrade. It's got chrome wheels and an extented polished swingarm. Since we're going to go into the motor of the 14 this Winter to the point that it probably will no longer be a viable ride everyday bike, I'm wanting something else that will be able to take the place of that bike for a be-bop around on bike. I've wanted a burgundy ZX11 since I first saw one. I really like that color. This bike is the same color so it's really sharp looking. It's got a stock motor in it now but comes with a fully built race motor also that was taken out when it developed a rod knock. I don't know why I'm like this but I just can't have anything stock. A turbo is really extreme but 4-5 PSI on a stock motor tuned by Williford or Cecil should be about as strong as a stock 14R power wise and still maintain complete reliability. I've never ridden a ZX9. How do they ride comfort wise? Please tell me they aren't GSXR1000-like in the riding position. I'm too old and fat to be folded over on a bike anymore. I assume they handle stop and turn at least as well as the ZX11's and ZX14's but can someone confirm this? The auction has ended but I'll try to find a pic and post it. I just want to make sure I'm not buying something that I cannot ride and enjoy. This bike is different enough that people will notice it and that's important to me. Sorry, I'm old and just like that now. Give me some honest opinions of the ZX9's if you don't mind. Thanks in advance for any opinions or stories you can share with me.

Hope that works. How's it look to you guys? Not going to race it. Just ride it. I've got enough race bikes already. The color sold me. The fact that it's got a turbo is way cool. I'm just hoping it's comfortable enough for me to ride.

My cousin had an 01 zx9 that I raced one weekend and street rode a little bit. I would take one in a heartbeat as an extra bike to ride around on. It's been awhile and I'm not sure if its as comfortable as my 14. But still very good in its own right. I doubt it will be as fast as a stock 14, but the way the power is gonna come in with a turbo I gotta think it'd be a blast to ride. That bike does look very nice!

Unfortunately when I got my money on a Tuesday and called him on this bike, he stated he'd just traded it for another bike Sunday night previous. Oh well, sometimes things happen for a reason. The turbo Busa and Baby Gixxer are getting upgrades as I type this. I still loved the color of it.
