Went to the track with Teddy and Chuck , I rode the c14 ... I have made no changes to the bike since I ran the 6.76 .. Well tonight I put down a 6.60 flat @ 108 in the 1/8 mile ...I didn't run that fast on a stock Vmax !! I still have not got the BIN file from Woolich to flash the ECU ... But I did get a look at the factor flies map ... Even in 6th gear the flies don't open fully till 9500 at 100% throttle !!! :dunno: In first gear they never open 100 % , more like 68% at 100% throttle at 9500 ... Getting the flies open like the zx14R should really wake this bike up ...

Awesome, can't wait to see how it does after a flash. You can really tell the flies are killing power, especially in the lower gears or quick throttle changes.

I should make a BIG difference ... I'm still shopping for 44 gen 1 TBs also ... :vroom:

I use the '06 ZX14 44 TB's along with '06 ZX14 injectors that squirt a bit more, velocity stacks, no flies or cats and a Speedohealer V4 to defeat the speed limiter on my "08 C14 ABS. Also use JE 9.5 CR forged turbo pistons, HD valve and clutch springs to go with the Garrett 27 turbo, 2 stage boost controller, water/methanol injection, Pingel elect. shifter and dual GP shorty slash cut exhaust. Chris Jones tuned the HP (238) down a bit to make the bike streetable. When drag racing, the stock wheelbase makes it extremely hard to keep the front wheel down (even with a front strap) under max acceleration. I have a re-valved shock, but it needs more than that. It's lowered front and rear with a Catalyst step seat. 9.92 et @ 144 mph in 1/4 mile. I know it is capable of more, if one can keep the front wheel down. Lew

Hey Smokin',

If you're still waiting for some stuff from Woolich, you might want to ask about an on-bike harness for flashing. I just installed one this weekend. I don't think they're advertised on the site yet, but you could ask if he has one available. Just FYI.

If you're lookin' for ZX TB's, the 2008-2011 ZX14 TB's are more of a direct swap...they have the same injectors as the C14. (330cc 12 hole). If you use the 2006-2007 ZX14 TB's, you'll have to swap the C14 injectors in. (I believe the 06-07 ZX14 injectors are 440cc w/10 hole pattern?). Unless you want the bigger injectors...in which case, just ignore everything I said...lol.

Something else to consider, you should also swap in the ZX14 intake runners. I think most of the guys that swapped ZX TB's into the C14 used the C14 intake runners, which may very well be fine, but they are smaller. The C14 and ZX14 intake runners are the same where they bolt to the cyl head (The cyl ports appear to be the same size), but the ZX intake runners have a wider 'funnel' where the TB's sit. I suspect that with the ZX14 TB's will be slightly restricted when mounted in the C14 intake runners.

Just my 2 cents worth;).

I think the whole problem with the flies opening late and power is flat, has to do with the variable cam timing ,if that could be altered like having a switch to change from economy mode to sport mode would be key, jm2ct.

Well I got my BIN files for the C14 .. I have had the flashing harness for some time but Woolich didn't have a BIN file for my ECU .. I send him a read off my ECU and he was able to build a BIN file ..

So today I did a little work on the secondary flies opening rate .. The c14 has a very very slow opening rate on the flies , in first gear they open 68% at 100% throttle at 9500 ..In the low revs at 100% throttle its not even opening 12% .. What most would do would pull the flies just like we did with the gen 1 zx14s and then remap using a P/C ... What I did was copy and paste 6th gear flies map into first , second , third , forth and fifth gears .. The C14 6 gear map the flies are still slow compared to a ZX14 but till much faster than the first 5 gears in the c14 .. Looking at the fuel mapping it stays the same in all gears .. Meaning 1st gear to 6th gear uses the same fuel map .. So using the 6th gear flies map in all gears the factory fueling should remain the same ..

Now I have full opening at 5000 @ 100% throttle in all 6 gears .. Yes they can still be made to open even faster if I like but I wanted to take baby steps on this just to see what happens ..

I'm glad I did it this way because my first test ride was an eye opener ... Rolling the throttle on in first gear from 3000 , as soon as it hit 5000 the bike jumped right up into the air ... .. Where before getting the front wheel off the ground would need you to rev it up and pop the clutch ..Second gear wheels up again without the aid of the clutch !!! Now the bike reminds me of a gen 1 stock zx14 .. I'm sure it's not as fast as a gen 1 zx14 because of the extra weight but it sure did pick up some much needed power in the lower gears .. I'm going to track test it as I have it now to see what differences it makes in ET and MPH ..

Next test will be using a Gen 1 zx14 flies map in all 6 gears on the C14 ..The Gen 1 zx14 has a slow flies map but still faster than what I have now ..

So far I'm pretty happy with the gain ... I'm still looking for a cheap set of 44 TBs off a 2008 to 2011 zx14 .. That should also give the C14 a good bump in top end power .. Even with the header I added the power goes away around 9k real fast .. The 44 TBs should help that high RPM power to red line ..If it does I can increase the rev limiter in the ECU to make use of the extra power .. The C14 has a limit of 10000 Vs the Gen1 zx14 at 11000 ..

See ya at the track ....

Thanks for the update Smokin',

All great news!

I'm doing the same thing with my C14 STP maps...but I won't be on the road to test them for another couple weeks. I have a more aggressive STP map I can try later.

I have a lot of work to do, and I'm still waiting for parts;(.

Please keep us posted on the gains you see with the adjusted STP mapping.

New data is in !!! Speeding the flies up did great ...As I posted before I used the 6th gear flies map in gears 1 to 5 .. They are still slower than a gen zx14 but much better than a stock C14 ..

The bike went from the last test of 6.77@105 to 6.63@108 , so it picked up better that a tenth of a second and a extra 3 MPH .. :bigthumb:

I feel that they can be opened still much faster than they are now , I'll work on a new flies map and give it another shot .. Maybe get into the 6.50s !!!

Oh yes I kicked the shit out of a few 1000s and one stock wheel base gen 2 busa and a few of the 1000s were extended .. One guy asked me if I had an air shifter .. I said hell no !! Then I hit the button and lowered the wind shield and said watch this ...lol

That is awesome! Both times I have had the Concours at the track I have loved embarrassing guys on sport bikes. And that time is moving for stock bike with an exhaust.
