Got a couple keys made cost me 60 bucks . I used my four wheeler battery to crank her up. It wouldn't jump start even off my truck.. I was shocked she runs and everything seems ok. A small plastic conector was broke on clutch got that part in and topped off and bled clutch. Seems to work as it starts in first with clutch pulled, I did notice that with bike off clutch pulled in and in first gear if I try to move bike it does so but with some resistance. In neutral it rolls freeley. Is this normal ? Is clutch not fully disengaging ?

My goal is to keep this bike under $5,000. I've got about $3,200 in it now which includes trailer rental and a few small tools I had to get. Next I need fresh oil and fuel, still need right rear set , and the a test spin. I may test it out tomorrow.. also gotta see what map the PO was running.

Yes there will be some resistance when you push it in gear. The main thing is second gear ok, that's what is usually bad if there is transmission problem.

Warren are you in Colorado? Has to be... I saw this bike on craigslist up in Denver right? I wondered what the problem with it was since it was advertised for so cheap (5k). Sounds like you got them to bargain even more. That price you paid is killer, even if it is beat up. I would have tried to buy it if I was in country.

When I'm not away for work, I live down in the Springs. Just a regular kawi nut with 3 ZX-12Rs LOL. I should get home end of next month.

Ha ha small world... yes this is the same bike you saw on Craigslist. I offered 3k and they said ok to my surprise. That's sweet you have three 12r's. I love those bikes too. Hard to find. If I get this one road worthy I'm done to ride someday.

I tried filling battery with acid and charging and it worked, but didn't hold charge for more than a day. New battery will be needed. On an impulse I ordered carbon fiber front fender and carbon fiber upper inner "dash panel" trim pieces from web bike Japan, made by magical racing. 500 bucks and they say they might be in the first of the year. I wanna get the front fairings in carbon fiber too from a tech, another Japanese company sold through same site. I'l see how first transaction goes.

I still havnt test ridden yet to check all gears of transmission, kinda slacking gotta get a new right rear set still. ..

Pumped out old fuel and put in fresh 91.

I've heard of A Tech, they still make bits for the 12R too.

The bike is an absolute steal for $3k if it runs. Just hope your transmission is good!

Got a battery at the dealer, its sold by Honda and comes pre charged, it was 70.00 dollars. 50 dollars cheaper than oem battery. Also got kawi products for an oil change. It was 115.00 total for battery and oil and filter. Not bad. I replaced road rashed drain plug too. I really don't wanna ride it till I get new rear set .. I'm going to see if the welders at work can repair it..

A good welder can fix anything. But might be a pain to get it prepped, then looking halfway descent after you weld it.

or you could just buy these, bolt them on and go....

I spoke to our best welder, he said cast aluminum could be welded but as a rider himself he doesn't advise to fix it nor will he fix it due to safety concerns. Il just have to get the stock part from ebay. I was more curious and only looking for a quick temporary fix. I would like some nice adjustable rear sets but for now I like the stock ones just fine, as they match and blend in with the frame quite nicely..

Yes ! Been busy with life but the bike seems to be riding pretty good. I recently got title in my name, plates, and insurance. I put on a factory rear set and handle bar that I got from eBay. I've been on a few test rides, havnt even hit the power band yet.. first impression-Holy Shit !! I put on some new after market mirrors as one of originals was broken. Tires are very bad and I shouldn't have even been riding it. Hoping to get pilot road 4 tires soon. Bike is burning a lot of fuel so gotta see what's going on with power commander and should put new spark plugs in too, although I havnt checked them yet. Need to check air filter also. I've got carbon fiber front fender, ram air covers and fuel tank cover. I havnt installed carbon fiber yet waiting to do all fairings at once. I met a guy who lives near me with a 1400'concours and looking forward to some safe riding this summer !! Also plan on going to Bandimere speedway for a few 1/4 mile runs. I will post up some pics of new parts soon...

New Goodyear pilot road 4s and magical racing carbon fiber front fender installed. New tanax mirrors also installed. Still riding around in tc3 working on gaining trust with the machine. I'm really not expeprienced for this bike but have no desire to ride anything else. Hope to make it too drag strip in a week or so to get some runs under my belt..
